1. Watch out for 'tilt'. It's easy to let your emotions take over at the table. Annoying players and bad beats can throw your concentration and ruin your game. Just close your eyes, count to ten, and re-focus.
2. Don't play too many hands. To start, you'll probably pay to see a lot of flops. That's cool. But when the stakes get higher, it's time to get clever with the cards. Be patient and wait until you're holding a strong hand before making a move.
3. Roll with it. It may be obvious but it's still a mistake that players make: don't play above your bankroll. You may score a few early wins but that doesn't make you the next Hellmuth (yet). Enjoy the ride and take your time to build that stack.
